Crafty crow cleared her throat,

“Caw! Caw! Caw!”

She flew to town

and wandered round

“Caw! Caw! Caw!”

She spied a diamond

burning bright

“Caw! Caw! Caw!”

She dive bombed down

with all her might.

“Caw! Caw! Caw!”

She fought the woman

who wore the ring

“Caw! Caw! Caw!”

But crow was large

and ended up winning

“Caw! Caw! Caw!”

Crow ripped off the ring

and the finger, too

“Caw! Caw! Caw!”

Her black feathers ruffled

shining like morning dew

“Caw! Caw! Caw!”

She arrived at her nest

and placed the diamond down

“Caw! Caw! Caw!”

Crow guarded it fiercely

from her foes circling around

“Caw! Caw! Caw!”

She never left the diamonds glow

and starved herself in the sleet and snow
